Heritage Walks - Lee Historic Waterfront

Why not join one of our free monthly walks to find out more about Lee's history from a local resident? The walk was developed by Ray Harding in 2006, drawing on his knowledge and experience of living and working in the area for over 60 years, 40 of them specifically in Lee. The walks only take 90 minutes and cover lots of interesting topics including:

  • Introduction
  • Browndown Ranges
  • Fleet Reviews
  • Local History and Events
  • Seaplanes at RAF and FAA
  • Lee-on-the Solent Schneider Trophy
  • WW2 – D Day Great Passenger Liners
  • Round the World Yacht Races
  • Cowes Weeks
  • Rolex Fastnet Race
  • JP Morgan Round the Island Race
  • Railway – Branch Line from Gosport :
