Youth Project

Managing, Support and Promoting Effective Youth Work

We believe that provising facilities for young people benefits everyone in Lee by creating positive things for young people to be involved in.

There are a number of groups that provide for young people such as the Scouts and Guides, Church Youth Clubs, St. Johns Ambulance etc.

In addition Hampshire County Council currently provide youth services and run the Focus Youth Centre on the Lee School site including sessions dedicated to those with Special Needs.

The service works with young people between the ages of 10 and 25, with the priority age range being 13 to 19.  In Lee-on-the-Solent, the Focus Youth Centre provides youth club activities three evenings per week that:

  • enable young people to develop personal skills, social skills and high aspirations.
  • involve young people in democracy and decision making (Lee-on-the- Solent Youth forum)
  • promote the social inclusion of young people
  • engage young people in new opportunities and challenging experiences
  • encourage young people lead healthy lifestyles.

It offers opportunities, which enable young people to:

  • be healthy
  • stay safe
  • enjoy and achieve
  • make a positive contribution
  • achieve economic well-being
